24th December 2011, Kemensah, Selangor

A new flycatcher from Kemensah. Almost mistook her for an Asian brown.

  1. Madi, these are beautiful shots. Sorry to say that it is a Dark-sided Flycather. The Brown-streaked has fainter streaks and looks even more similar to a Asian Brown.

  2. Hi Mun , thanks for the input. The base of the lower mandible looks yellow (Brown streaked) , the bill looks slightly large for a Dark-Sided and the wing tips doesn't extend long enough. She looks different from the Dark sided flyc I've come across. Hmmm ... what could it be?

  3. I'm with you on this one Madi. Mun, check out the 'enormous' bill and rather short primary projection (compared with, for example, this pic: http://orientalbirdimages.org/search.php?Bird_ID=2708).

Very nice shots and a very educational bird!
