The same tree that attracted the Scaly-breasted Bulbuls was also a magnet for other birds A pair of Gold-Whiskered Barbet couldn’t resist the temptation of the succulent fruits (managed to shoot one) A male Greater Green Leafbird A male Asian Fairy Bluebird brought the other half A female Asian Fairy Bluebird A Buff-Vented Bulbul Crimson-Breasted Flowerpecker This Little Spiderhunter stopped momentarily on the tree and then flew to a nearby Bamboo, I guess she qualifies! |

A fruiting tree attracted lots of different Bulbuls. These Scaly-Breasted Bulbuls caught my attention since they are rarely sighted in Kemensah. It can be seen from the photos that the scaling on the belly is more extensive on the first bird. Although the Guide Book does not mention any differences between the sexes could this be an indicator of the gender, or is it only indicative of the level of maturity. |

| Went looking for Red-Whiskered Bulbuls after receiving information that they had been seen in Kemensah. Unfortunately they were not there but we saw plenty of Scaly-Breasted Bulbuls (Pycnonotus squamatus) on a fruiting tree. |
