Local Name: Dendang Senja Scientific Name: Oriolus xanthonotus It has been more than a year since I last saw this Oriole, usually they go in pairs but this one seemed to be  solo.

The  photos of the male Dark-Throated Oriole (Oriolus xanthonotus) in the previous post was shot on a misty morning with strong backlight. This is a better shot. He flew in together with the Sultan Tit after the rain and fortunately he landed on a low  branch. Just managed one shot before he disappeared.

Dark-Throated Orioles of Kemensah

Lifer 2: Was on the wrong track in thinking that it’s a Bulbul. Finally managed to ID this bird as a female Dark-Throated Oriole (Oriolus xanthonotus). She was part of a bird wave that came at about 9.30am.                             Luckily the first bird I saw this morning (16/08/09) was this male Oriole. These complement the photos of the female that had been taken a day before nicely.
