The same tree that attracted the Scaly-breasted Bulbuls was also a magnet for other birds A pair of Gold-Whiskered Barbet couldn’t resist the temptation of the succulent fruits (managed to shoot one) A male Greater Green Leafbird A male Asian Fairy Bluebird brought the other half A female Asian Fairy Bluebird A Buff-Vented Bulbul Crimson-Breasted Flowerpecker This Little Spiderhunter stopped momentarily on the tree and then flew to a nearby Bamboo, I guess she qualifies! |

Far from greed, never beyond what they need. |
Far from greed, a shelter to be and to breed. |
Far from greed, for the cycle of life they feed. |

Crimson-Breasted Flowerpecker

At first sight I mistook her for a Yellow-Bellied Flowerpecker which I shot last week. Upon further review she turned out to be a lovely Yellow-Vented Flowerpecker (Dicaeum chrysorrheum) local name: Sepah Puteri Rimba , a lifer. | |

Photographing a tiny, quick moving Flowerpecker is always a challenge and this one is no exception. He was constantly flying from one branch to another which made waiting for a clean shot not good for your blood pressure! . This is a male Scarlet-Backed Flowerpecker (Dicaeum cruentatum) local name: Sepah Puteri Merah |
| Flowerpeckers love this hairy but succulent fruit
Ferrari always comes to mind whenever the word scarlet is mentioned . Well, they may not be loud and quick as the ‘prancing horse’ but to me they are in a category of their own in terms of beauty.

3rd October 2009, Kemensah, Selangor I needed to improve on the existing photos of the Orange-Bellied Flowerpecker (Dicaeum trigonostigma) and the opportunity came when a few birds flew in and lingered above our heads just before the bird wave began. |

A female Orange-Bellied Flowerpecker (Dicaeum trigonostigma) local name: Sepah Puteri hovering in mid air. Probably she saw something of interest to her. |
