I’ve shot Rufous Piculets before but they were either too dark , too blurry or too far. Not this time though Opportunity presented itself as I was trekking back to the jeep after a not so productive day. She lingered in the area for almost an hour but her size ( about the size of your thumb) made her extremely difficult to spot.

ReplyDeleteFunny how the autofocus always fail to engage properly on a Piculet. I think the colour combination and the size is just not favourable to Nikon's autofocus. Had to manually overide the focussing to obtain these images.
