The only  bird  that I managed to shoot on this trip.

  2. Hi Johnathan,
    I've added the EXIF data for your reference. This is how I normally shoot although the shutter speed is a bit slow for my liking. I try to keep it at about 1/125-1/200s. Sometimes I push the ISO up to 800 depending on the lighting condition in the forest.
    The Nikon 300mm f4 is not a VR lens so you do need a steady support, I use a Manfrotto tripod with a Wimberley gimbal head and cable shutter release (refer to photo). I shoot RAW and the post processing is only done using Lightroom 3.3, just some sharpening, exposure & white balance adjustment, noise reduction and crop. Maybe some postcrop vignetting and that's it. And then export the file to jpeg.
