Rusty Breasted Cuckoo

24th September 2011, Kemensah, Selangor

A male Rusty breasted Cuckoo  swooped down from a higher perch to catch a caterpillar and stayed  for a few minutes to finish off  his meal. Luckily the branch was quite low, which provided an excellent opportunity for some eye level shots.

  1. Nice shots of a species I've yet to see!
We've got enough of it close relative Plaintive Cuckoo in northern Thailand. I need to see peninsula specialty soon!
