Whimbrels of Kampong Sabak

22 September 2009, Kampong Sabak, Kelantan

A pair of Whimbrels (Numenius phaeopus) flew in after the Stilts  had left. They are quite sizeable birds. These two  didn’t want to get their feet wet. They will learn soon enough where dinner is.

  1. The body look like a Pisau Raut, a knife that carpenter used to cut rattan etc.
Now migrant birds start visiting our shore. I saw brown shrike a few days ago.
