When I first saw her I said to myself ‘ This warbler sure has  a long tail’ but the tail looked like that of a Prinia. After a bit of research I now know that she’s a juvenile female  Yellow-Bellied Prinia. ( the adult bird for comparison)

Cry Baby : Yellow-Bellied Prinia

It sounded like someone was crying from within  the  clumps of reed inside the abandoned fish ponds. To my relief I saw her, a Yellow-bellied Prinia calling or should I say ‘crying’ for her mate. I think  your mind tends to be over imaginative when you’re alone in the jungle!

Yellow-Bellied Prinia

This Yellow-Bellied Prinia was together with their cousins the Rufescent Prinia, moving as a group while making lots of happy sound.
